HealtHIE Nevada and all Participants are required to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations that protect the confidentiality and security of PHI and establish certain individual privacy rights, including but not limited to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and its accompanying regulations, 45 C.F.R. Parts 160 and 164; and Subtitle D of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (“HITECH”) Act provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“ARRA”), 42 U.S.C. §§ 17921-17954.
