HealtHIE Nevada takes patient privacy very seriously and recognizes that we cannot succeed if patients do not trust that their information is safe. HealtHIE Nevada follows all state and federal laws to protect patient Protected Health Information (PHI).

We take all the necessary steps to prevent the unauthorized use or disclosure of your health information. All PHI is safeguarded on data infrastructure that is Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) Common Security Framework (CSF) Certified. HealtHIE Nevada has also achieved the HIPAA Seal of Compliance by the Compliancy Group.

HealtHIE Nevada and all participants are required to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations that protect the confidentiality and security of PHI and establish certain individual privacy rights, including, but not limited to, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and its accompanying regulations, 45 C.F.R. Parts 160 and 164; and Subtitle D of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (“HITECH”) Act provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“ARRA”), 42 U.S.C. §§ 17921-17954.
