HealtHIE Nevada takes patient privacy very seriously and recognizes that we cannot succeed if patients do not trust that their information is safe. HealtHIE Nevada follows all state and federal laws to protect patient information.

We take all the necessary steps to prevent the unauthorized use or disclosure of your health information.

HealtHIE Nevada and all participants are required to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations that protect the confidentiality and security of PHI and establish certain individual privacy rights, including, but not limited to, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and its accompanying regulations, 45 C.F.R. Parts 160 and 164; and Subtitle D of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (“HITECH”) Act provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“ARRA”), 42 U.S.C. §§ 17921-17954.

We are accredited by the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) for meeting proper security and privacy standards. These standards include technical security measures as well as written policies and procedures regulated by federal and state privacy laws, to which all participants must agree.
